At Gangakhed, Tembe Swami was initiated to Sanyasa by Lord Dattatreya and was ordered to go to Ujjaini and receive the monastic sceptre ( rod ) from Shri. Narayanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj who ritually presented him the sceptre and bestowed upon him the monastic name of “SHRI VASUDEVANAND SARASWATI” P.P.Swami maharaj completed his first Chaturmas at Ujjaini in Madhyapradeshat the banks of river Kshipra, in presence of Shri. Narayanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj.
P.P.Swamimaharaj completed his second Chaturmas at Shri Kshetra Bramhavarta(Bithur) in Uttarpradesh at the banks of river Ganga. Here during his eight month stay he wrote ‘Shri Datta Puran’.
Shri Swamimaharaj completed his third Chaturmas at the holy place Haridwar,at the banks of river Ganga.After this Chaturmas he left for Shri Badhrinarayan pilgrimage.
Shri Swamimaharaj was in Himalaya for these two years and as far as information is concerned, no details are available about these two years that he spent in Himalayas.

Shake 1818,Vaishakh Pournima ,Shri Swamimaharaj completed his Himalaya pilgrimage and returned to Haridwar. After staying here for six months he left for Bhramhavarta.
Here at the banks of river Mahi,Shri Swamimaharaj completed his seventh Chaturmas and wrote ‘Shri Dattaleelaamrutadisar’ comprised of one thousand stanza.
During his eighth Chaturmas at the banks of river Narmada, he wrote on Shri Revakhand Puran i.e. Shri Narmadakhand puran. He also transformed Shri Kurmapuran from Andhra script to the Devnagari Script.
After following the route from Prabhaspatan,Sorati Somnath,Prachikshetra,Porbandar he reached Dwaraka.He stayed there for four months and meantime he was instructed by Lord Dattatraya to write criticism on Dwisahastri Gurucharitra.Though he did not have original copy with him at that time still he wrote .He completed till Adhyaya nine at Prabhaspatan and criticism on Adhyaya 10 to 23,Yogarahasya and Bodhrahasya was completed during his stay at Dwaraka.
Sri Swamimaharaj completed his tenth Chaturmas at the banks of river Narmada at Chikhalda in Madhya Pradesh. During this stay, he wrote Maghmahatmya in Prakrut.
Shri Swami maharaj was Madhya Pradesh during his eleventh Chaturmas.During his six months stay at banks of river Kshipra at Mahattapur,he wrote ShriDatta mahatmaya in Prakrut which is based on ShriDatta Puran.He also wrote Trishati Gurucharitra in Sanskrut during his stay at Mahattapur.

He did ‘Gayatri Purascharan ‘ as per Shri Swamimaharaj’s instructions.Shri Swamimaharaj wrote many scriptures during his stay at Bramhavarta,it includes ‘Samashloki Gurucharitra’,’Laghumanansar’,and also Prakrut ‘Saptashati Gurucharitrasar’. He abstain speech during his 14th Chaturmas.

Shri Swami Maharaj completed his 15th Chaturmas at Narasi at the banks of river Kayadhu.During this stay he wrote ‘Dattachampu’and ‘Karunatripadi’ .Here at banks of Kayadhu ,one woman saw a six month old baby on the Shri Swami Maharaj’s lap. That baby was none other than Shri Dattaprabhu, himself.
Shri Swami Maharaj completed his 15th Chaturmas at Barwah,at the banks of river Narmada. This place is part of then Indore Sansthan in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Ganda Maharaj and Shri Sitarampant were with him during this stay.
Shri Swami Maharaj completed his 17th Chaturmas at banks of river Kaveri, at Tanjawar .He wrote his criticism on ‘Shri Krishnalahari’ in Sanskrit.
Shri Swami Maharaj completed his eighteenth Chaturmas at the banks of river Krishna at Mukyala.During this period he wrote ‘Yuvashiksha’, ’Vruddhashiksha’, and ‘Stri Siksha’.
Shri Swami Maharaj completed his Nineteenth Chaturmas at the banks of river Vainganga at Pavani . Shri Gulavani Maharaj , Shri Shankarkaka Aajegaokar mother of .Shri Gulavani Maharaj Shrimati Umabai,Shri Shankarrao Gulavani and sister Shrimati Godavari all these people received Mantropadesh from Shr Swami Maharaj.
Shri Swami Maharaj did his twentieth Chaturmas at the banks of river Tungabhadra , Hawnur .He stayed there in ‘Tripurakanteshwar’s temple’.Here he praised ‘Shri Tripurakanteshwa’ and ‘Shri Tungabhadra’.Shri Gulavani Maharaj came here , in search of his Shri Sadguru all the way walking from Ganagapur and stayed with him for 10-12 days. During this stay he experienced sakshaat Vyagrambardhari Shri Dattaprabhu in Shri Swami Maharaj.
With Shri Dattaprabhu’s order Shri Swami Maharaj did his twentieth Chaturmas at river bank of Krishna, Kuravpur.Shri Ganda Maharaj was with him during this Chaturmas. Shri Swami Maharaj wrote ‘Shri Aghorkashtoddharan Stotra’ during this Chaturmas.
Shri Swami Maharaj was here earlier too for his tenth Chaturmas. This time he stayed there for 6-7 months. While answering a student’s query Shri Swami Maharaj had answered that ‘ if your inner voice (‘antahkaran’) is not conscious enough then acquiring all the wisdom is utter futile. He further said one can achieve cleansing of antahkaran or inner voice by karmamarg-actions.Thus cleansing of antahkaran can help achieve the real knowledge’.
Shri Swami Maharaj did his final Chaturmas at the banks of river Narmada at Garudeshwar.Here he wrote ‘Chittsadbodnakshatramala’ and ‘Aatmanatmavichar’ in Prakrut.He wrote ‘Shri Dattabhavsudharas stotra’ for the devotees and also gave summarized Upadesha As narrated by him, he was afflicted once by plague, thrice by cholera, twice by leprosy, once by leukoderma , twice by snakebite and lifelong by dysentery. However he never took any medicines and placed himself utterly at the disposal of divine will. After the summer of 1914 AD, when he was 60 years old his health started deteriorating rapidly. As soon as Amavasya of Jyeshta month gave way to the 1st day of Ashada ,( Tuesday, Ardra nakshatra, uttarayan ) he sat in siddhasanaposture facing the idol of Shri Datta and with a chant of “OM”, he left his physical form.
